Cambridge Exam Preparation Evening Course

Proof of your English language level is becoming more important these days.  In many countries in Europe, you need the First Certificate or Advanced Cambridge exams before you can secure a good job.  The English classes you have in school don’t always prepare you effectively for this unfortunately.  Our Cambridge Exam courses help you with strategies and techniques to improve your performance in the exam.
During the course, you will practise all sections of the exam and get feedback on your performance.  You will study:
  • Grammar for the Use of English section
  • Listening strategies
  • All of the types of English Writing tasks
  • Speaking – including pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary
  • Reading techniques
We believe in making the most of your time in class so time-consuming activities such as reading and developing vocabulary will be given as homework.  This leaves more time in class for practice with the teacher.   We keep the lessons practical and with lots of communicative activities.  We teach you how to give the examiner what they want so you will be able to pass the exam.
You get an in-depth knowledge of the exam and feedback on your performance in the Cambridge Exam.  With the support and advice of your teacher, you can improve in all sections of the exam.  Get help from your classmates too – you’ll meet new people who are studying for the same reason you are.  Why not start a study group?  You can meet before the class and use our Study Centre.  You can also borrow books and dictionaries from our library.
Use all the services we offer to maximise your time with us.
  • Read our blog – we post tips and help with the First and Advanced Cambridge exams
  • Do practise speaking tests with our Academic Support Tutor – make free appointments with Kenny.  Many of our students do this before the exam.
  • Speak to your teacher about doing a full practice test (fee applies).  We can arrange for you to do all sections of the exam on a Saturday.  It’s one of the best ways to prepare for the First or Advanced exam.
  • Join English Club – it’s only £24 for six sessions and you can choose when you attend.  It’s available every day but you have 6 weeks to use your sessions so it’s flexible and you can come when you are free.  The students are the ones who decide what happens in class.  The teachers are there to guide the classes and answer any questions.
