Learn Mandarin Glasgow

Open Evening – Thursday 10th January 2019, 6.30 to 7.30pm
The event gives anyone the opportunity to come along to the school and find out more about our foreign language courses. You will have the chance to meet our teachers and staff, see the school and also discuss your level and the content of our courses. There is no need to register, just come along. However, if you wish to speak to a particular teacher, please let us know in advance so we can make sure they are available. We hope you can make it!
Live Language offers Chinese courses in Glasgow for you to learn or improve your language skills. Our Chinese courses are designed to provide you with the skills and language knowledge you need to be able to use Chinese in a variety of situations.
If you are learning Chinese for travelling, working, living in China, or just because you love the culture and their people, these courses will help you develop the knowledge to use Chinese in context and communicate with native speakers as well as other speakers of Chinese as a foreign language.
Our Chinese classes are small to ensure that you get the highest level of attention from your teacher. The classes are taught in a communicative way, and integrate vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation with speaking, listening, reading and writing activities. You will be also learning Chinese calligraphy and pronunciation using Pinyin (four tones) pronunciation system.
You can read the learning outcomes for each level here.
Our experienced teacher is a Chinese native speaker and uses a communicative approach, which gives you the maximum amount of time to practise Chinese in a friendly environment. Please note that even though we aim to have communicative Chinese classes, our teacher is also fluent in English, so if you have any questions or doubts, our Chinese teacher can always explain it in English.
Don't worry if you miss a class or two. You can book 30 min Catch up private lessons with your teacher for only £15. Maximum 4X 30 min lessons can be booked per term per student. Lesson has to be paid at least 24hours in advance and no cancellation is possible with less than 24 hours’ notice.
Our school wants to ensure you are in a personalised class and have enough time to practise your language skills in it. The minimum number of students for a foreign language class is 5 and the maximum number is 14. Please note the school requires sufficient student numbers to start a class. If your class does not have the minimum number of students, you will be contacted to offer the following options for you to continue learning, however, some classes may be subject to cancellation.
  • 5 students: full 24 hours (12 weeks X 2 hours)
  • 4 students: 20 hours (10 weeks X 2 hours)
  • 2- 3 students: A semi-private option will be offered
If you have a more specific goal, a different schedule for your course or would like to learn Chinese more intensively, you can join our private and semi-private classes. You can find more information about Private and Semi-Private classes here. Please note that private lessons are flexible; however, the organisation of the lessons will depend on the teacher’s availability at the time of the enquiry. If you are not sure of your level, you can try to go through our Level test
Please contact Fernanda ( if you have any questions.
