English Evening courses in Glasgow

  • Need English to get a better job?
  • Need English to help with life in Scotland?
  • Need to maintain your level of English?
Live Language’s General English evening course is perfect for you!  A lot of our current evening students are working in restaurants, bars, or hotels but there are many doing a variety of other jobs – anything from au pairs to engineers.  All need to improve their English which is why we adapt the courses to the needs of our students.
That depends on who is in the class.  We use a textbook throughout the course, but we choose the most relevant parts for the students.  All the skills and systems of English are covered: listening, speaking, reading, writing, vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation, but the teachers choose to emphasise what the class wants and needs.  For example:
  • More accurate grammar
  • Improved fluency
  • Expanded vocabulary
  • Accurate listening
  • Increased confidence when speaking
You can read the full course outline here.
Usually everyone wants speaking so all of our classes are communicative.  Our teachers develop the content of the course to suit you – speak to them about what you want to study. All classes teach you how to improve your English outside class too – we believe in making our learners independent.  So even if you are only studying for 3 hours per week with us, you will learn techniques to continue improving after class, as well as strategies on how to use the internet, your textbook and TV etc. to help your English.
By maintaining a flexible approach to the content, Live Language’s English Evening courses, are designed to meet the needs of the students and keep them at the centre of the class.  Another benefit is that you can make friends from different countries in our international classes.  A lot of students find that they only meet people who are from their country – even when living here.  You’ll also learn how to continue improving your English after the class finishes.
We know how important the classes are, but also offer a number of additional services and opportunities to help you progress quickly.  Please note, not all of these are free – click on the link to see the price if applicable.
